Location: Cedar Breaks National Monument

Overview: Cedar Breaks National Monument (6,155 acres) is at the top of the Markagunt Plateau, 26 miles from Cedar City, UT. The elevation varies from 8,100' in the Ashdown Gorge on the western boundary to 10,662' in the northeastern section above the amphitheater. The majority of work will be field work in all weather conditions and with some computer data entry.

Responsibilities: The resource crew will be responsible for weed removal along the roadways, veg and rehab work at various locations. Repair trails, remove downed trees and collect and record weather data as well as other work assignments. Occasionally will assist maint staff with various projects and activities.

Qualifications:

Education: course work in the natural sciences such as biology, geology and physical sciences. Field work in various surveys or habitat restoration projects.
